To say...
My internet connection is really finicky, therefore there will not be a nice, new post until tomorrow. :(

1st Dance Cookout of the Summer
Whew! It's hard to believe that it's that time of year again... Dance cookouts are fun, summer togetherness. (BTW, isn't togetherness a great word?!)
I wish I had pictures of all the delicious food, but alas! I didn't take any. :(
Without further eloquence (and until I get my act together and post part 2 of the Creation Museum and Beach trip pictures)...
Bring on July. :P

Quotes... Again. :)
"Who wants to be Superman? Not me. I say no to 'super' and yes to 'man.' I'm Clark Kent." ~Ned
*with sarcasm* "Well, that's just downright fantastic, Clark." ~Emerson

Happiness is Spelled: Dr. Pepper
Growing up, my brother and I would visit my Grandfather and Grandmother for weeks at a time. In their house, snacks of various variety waited for us... Dr. Pepper was always there. It may seem strange, but sometimes drinking a Dr. Pepper can take me back to summers at my grandparents' home. *Happy Sigh*
And a superhero can is awesome too. :O)
"Yay! Memories!"

Creation Museum
When my Dad suggested we make a stop at the Creation Museum on our way home from KY, all I could do was excitedly shout, "YES!" So on our way home, we stopped at the museum for 6 hours. And it was everything that I hoped it would be. :)
The staff were quick to welcome us... and point us in the right direction.
As soon as we acquired our tickets...
the displays amazed me. :)
The 7 C's were one of my favorite pieces of the museum.
I loved the museum's emphasis on the Bible's answers to life's problems/questions.
And the emphasis on evolution's lack of answers...

But, God's truth is wonderful!
The creations videos, displays, and animations were excellent reminders of our merciful God.

The history walk-through was great.
From Adam and Eve's sin to the Great Flood.
From Babel to the Cross.
Man's sinfulness and God's faithfulness were before us.

The story of Noah's ark had always been fascinating to me...
what a great experience to see a life-size "piece" of it.
Stay tuned for part 2...

Economic Thoughts Continued
A friend of the family from church sent me an article about the philosophy of economist, Fredrick Hayek. While I didn't agree with everything he espoused, he had some GREAT quotes...
“[Equality] of the general rules of law and conduct… is the only kind of equality conducive to liberty and the only equality which we can secure without destroying liberty.”

Surprise, Surprise
"The best kind of prize is a surprise."
During our KY trip, we had the privilege of eating a scrumptious Sunday dinner with the extended family. :) What a delight! Good food, fellowship, and... a surprise! My great Aunts decided to surprise me with a post-grad celebration. Aren't they sweet?
I got to eat my dinner on the special red plate....
And we had a delicious cake. All in all, a cheery Sunday afternoon.
And I couldn't resist trying on my "graduation cap." :P

Trip to KY
My great-grandparents had 15 children. What a testimony! And it is a great blessing to be able to visit my grandfather's sisters in KY. (My parents had previously traveled to Chicago... And so met us later...)
Traveling with my grandfather can be great fun. We turn on country or 40's music, and we sing in harmony. :)

Homeschool Conference
Every year, I look forward with great anticipation to the homeschool conference... And this year was a blast! Between graduation, the skit, making vendor lunches, workshops, and the fabulous vendor hall, my family and I had a wonderful time!
Friday evening is the graduation ceremony with a reception afterward... The girlies and I were in charge of the punch bowl. And what would you expect, but lots of pictures?!
