Homecoming Parade

Jim and Cindy were kind enough to let their children come with Daniel and me to walk in the Homecoming Parade. West Virginians for Life has a group every year, and the kids (and I!) were excited to participate.

The Theme? "What if I hadn't been born?"
After waiting for the parade to start (and the kids listening to my instruction -- you aren't allowed to throw candy anymore...) we marched down the street. Smiling and walking all the way.

Back row: Noah and Daniel Front Row: Evangelia, Jude, and Maggie
But, we did take some time for pictures! It was "a prime blogging opportunity."

Me and the kids
We saw many friends... and missed several more.

Make a silly face
Next year, I'll have to bring more candy... we ran out before we completed the route...

And another!
After the parade, the kids wanted to take a photo with Bob, Penny, and Rufus.
I LOVE taking pictures with Bob, Penny, and Rufus!!

The kids with my favorite statue
And the funnier the poses, the better. *grins*

Noah wanted Bob's gun
Can't wait 'til next year. :)

Batman was in Candy Land. No, really.

Babysitting can have some fun occurrences. For instance, Batman and Spiderman took over Candy Land.

Aren't baby dolls the best?

Yeah, superheroes, coloring, Candy Land, and babysitting. A good evening.

Ah, Flexibility

For the first time in 18 years, I did not have to attend school today. Wow, what a change. It's strange that I'm not cracking the books, writing my notes, and studying every morning. But, today instead, I was able to finish a children's book, work at dad's office, clean the kitchen, cook dinner, and spontaneously agree to help with Cindy's kids and babysit Atticus. God is good! I've missed this flexibility these past 4 years. And now that I see that accomplishment of my formal education, I think that I've been greatly blessed.

Funny Faces

What's better than a babysitter with a camera?
The funny faces that appear. :)

My Newest Little Friends

Having the local, Christian, homeschooling mom's support group meet at my home comes with many blessings. One of these happens to be getting acquainted with the moms themselves... Michele is one of these lovely moms. And I was so flattered when she asked me if I could babysit her kids once a month. I love kiddos! The more, the better. So, pictures had to be shared!

Movie Night

I love movie nights with my kidos!

Of course, the Blockbuster guy talked me into popcorn, candy, and a pop. Ah, but it was worth it. :)

Children are a Blessing from the Lord

God is so good to my home church. We have so many little ones; it is such a great gift to be able to watch over them.

*The bonus of watching Daniel wrestle with them is too fun!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

I was watching some dear little children tonight, and some of their comments had me in stitches.

Noah asked me what I thought of Star Wars. I replied that I LOVE Star Wars. Evangelia then asked, "Is that love like marriage or do you just like it?" ;) :P

Later when we started "Free Willy", I told them that I had watched it as a little kid. Noah then replied, "So this movie is really old?" Yeah. I am ancient. 21 and never going back. :)

Captain Awesome

Friday evening, Dee, Sammi, and I went to stay with Noah, Maggie, and Evangelia Berry. Mr. and Mrs. Berry had gone out of town for their anniversary. The kids, Dee, and I had a blast watching movies, swinging on the hammock, and playing house in general. But, one of the biggest highlights for all of us was the little kitten the Berry's were watching. Noah told us that they had been calling him "Grub," but Dee insisted that "Grub" was a "Captain Awesome." I couldn't help but agree. Even Noah was calling him "Awesome" by the time we left. Dee told me I needed to share pictures of the captain with the rest of you... So without further ado...

P.S. I realize this post sounds like it is related to superheroes... but that is not intentional. :P

3 little monkeys

I love children... And babysitting gives me a unique opportunity to practice parenting skills while I am still single. So, when Mrs. Berry called and asked me to watch her children, I was happy to oblige. And I couldn't resist taking a snapshot.
