Camp Runamucka

Just kidding!

I have shamelessly neglected this blog of late. Part of the problem was being gone at church camp for a whole week. As soon as I get the "official photos, I'll be sure to share more. :)

It is my goal to start updating y'all on what has been going on around here ASAP.

VBS 2009

The Powell Family hosted VBS again this year. What a blessing to be able to serve our church in this capacity. =)

Singing for Opening Exercises

A full week of cleaning, preparing, and hosting makes for some very tired Powell's. But, by God's grace, we made it through another year.

Visit with the Steward Family

Last Sunday, Dee, Daniel, and I started the journey south for the Christian Worldview Student Conference. We did get stuck in traffic, but we still made it to the Steward home by 7:00pm... Thankfully, we didn't get lost! Dee and I always know we're on the right road when we see signs for the "Naked Mountain Winery" -- How WRONG is that! It's the brown sign in the picture... I knew if I didn't include proof, none of ya'll would believe me.

And I always love seeing fellow Powell's... The take over will shortly begin. :P

It was so wonderful of the Steward's to let us stay with them. Visiting with Vanessa is always something I look forward to; we laughed and joked until after midnight...
Her artwork is amazing!!!

But despite the good fellowship, we still had to leave on Monday for CWSC. After our goodbyes, we hit the road to continue our journey south..

VBS: Night 3

I think today was the best VBS night so far!

My favorite picture.

Some of the highlights:

Opening exercises were great... I love watching the kids faces as they try to do the motions. "Amen!" is our favorite bible school song. We get pretty loud and rowdy. :PDr. Knox shared with us his gift for music...
The older kids played a rousing game of soccer (minus a few rules), and the younger kids had I relay race based on the 5th commandment. (I also participated)
Dr. Jackson got a nose ring! ;-P

Nate and Mandy tried to work on crafts...

After most everyone went home, Daniel, Dee, Jake, Sammi, Josh, Jonah, and I played a game of roof volleyball... My house is so weirdly situated for this new-strange game. Of course, we weren't really keeping score, but my team still didn't win.

My Brother's Artwork

One thing about my brother that tends to amaze me is his artistic ability in the weirdest situations. While pressure washing our decks, he also left a message for anyone who walks by...
