Yes! I think M. Night Shyamalan is one of my favorite film makers. His movies always make me think. They aren't movies I would watch all the time... but I really do enjoy them.
Would you go see it? I might try to get a group together. I was thinking maybe the Moss girls, the Kincell girls, the Powells, and the Martinezs. We could all sit in the back like at POTC3. :)
P.S. Lady in the Water gets quoted a lot in my house. :P
Hmmm... I didn't realize this was Shyamalan's new film. I don't think it looks like one of his films, but I couldn't get the end to load so maybe that's why...
I don't know if I'll see it or not. I like The Village, but it's no LOTR or V&A! In fact, I don't even think it comes close... Shyamalan can be really weird.
Thanks for posting this, Laura. I'd been waiting for the trailer for a while! What Lady in the Water lines get quoted in your house? So you liked Lady in the Water, I assume? I liked The Village first, then Signs, then LITW, then The Sixth Sense. I know some people really didn't like Lady in the Water...it certainly was different, but it *felt* like an M. Night film, which is a feeling I really like. I'm wondering if M. Night watched movies like War of the Worlds and Day After Tomorrow and thought, "I can do better than this..." and thus made The Happening. It should be fascinating!

Often Young Soon (sp?) is quoted in my house. Such as "All multiple choice courses this semester, Mr. Heep. Young Soon is not stupid." Or "The University requires much reading... What they think? I have no social life?"

LOL, those quotes *are* funny. Young-soon is hilarious!! Though my favorite characters may actually be M. Night and his "sister." Cleveland's cool, too.
Anyway! :D As for the Sixth Sense...it is an amazingly made film. If you don't know the twist, don't look it up; you will be *shocked.* John had watched it and told we kids the twist, but Dad and Mom didn't know, and it was amusing seeing how they translated some of the scenes.
There are a few "not preferable" parts, though none of it's terrible. It's very scary...WAY more scary than Signs or The Village (I didn't think LITW was that scary, though Hannah was convinced there was a big jump scene and had us watch it repeatedly in "attempted" complete silence trying to make us jump).
The acting is absolutely incredible from everyone, though I especially like the main boy (he's in Secondhand Lions).
So, to sum up all this rambling, I think you should it watch it at least once in your lifetime. It definitely makes you think. A lot of people say it's M. Night's best. I don't agree (just because I prefer a different style plot, etc.), but I see why they say it. :)
