Hide N' Seek in Best Buy

Wow! Spring Break has flown by... I have done so much, but I'll sum up tomorrow.

Tonight, Daniel and I went out for coffee with Chris and Dee. We all had a great time telling stories, sharing music, and talking about TV and movies. During the evening, Chris suggested we all go to Best Buy. Wanting to look at the "Ipod Shuffle", I quickly agreed. Well, looking at Ipods took all of 5 minutes, but the boys weren't done browsing yet. Dee and I wandered around the store aimlessly, until I lost sight of the boys. I casually said to Dee, "You know that our brothers are going to sneak up and scare us." She readily agreed... So, we devised a plan "to hit them before they hit us back first." We hid around the store; sneaking from place to place, Dee thought the store clerks would think we were thieves. Finally, the boys began to notice we weren't around. They looked, but we were well hidden... (Daniel even went to the car to see if we were there.) Unfortunately, Daniel spotted me and made a beeline for us... And saw me trying to hide again. He ran up and quoted: "[When] I find those to Haynes sisters, I am going to take them by the hair... And with these two hands..." A store clerk then came up and asked Dee and I if we needed help. :) Needlessly to say, we all (boys included) quickly left the store... We didn't want to be thrown out!

It was a great end to Spring Break. :P

P.S. This experience has made me really want to play Hide N' Seek for real in a department store... Daniel thinks Walmart would be the best choice. Have any of y'all ever played in a store?

Easter

He is risen...

" 'Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen just as He said.' "

"For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life tat He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus."

"Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us... For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angles, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Easter Egg Hunt

The Kids (Ready to eat lots of Candy!!)
My friend Erin Alexander was very industrious for our second day of Spring Break. Organizing and Easter egg hunt for the children of the church is no small task, but Erin took it on. This morning, I arrived and helped Erin hide the last of the Easter eggs outside. The children had a blast finding them; Erin did a GREAT job. She only got two hours of sleep the night before (she worked long and hard) But, she still had a smile on her face. Kudos to Erin!

Spring Break

It's that time of year again... Time to refresh our minds before the last stretch of school work. I'm thankful for a break. Do any of you have a spring break? If so, how are you spending it? I am going to be organizing my room, cleaning house, working, and reading.

Here are some pictures of last year's spring break:

Count It all Joy

"Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is carried away and enticed by his own lust." (James1:13,14)

"...No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Cor. 10:12-14)

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance." (James 1:2,3)

Busy...

Long Time no See...Sorry! It has been so long since I've posted. :) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday have all been a whirlwind. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Recap:
Friday
o Work
o School
- Economics
- Lunch with Stephanie
- Open Lab
- Academic Advising Appointment
- Open Lab
o Rushed home to pack for Girl’s Night

Friday was great! Completely crazy, but great. School went well, I met with my advisor and planned for next semester. Open lab was fuller than I expected, but I had a blast. Nancy Drew was fun… Mrs. Martinez, Dee, Sammi, and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Saturday
o Coffee with Dee
o Work
o Grabbed lunch and Babysat for Knudsen
o Movie with Daniel, Dee, and Chris
Saturday was crazy… I love watching the Knudsen kids though. I took some pictures while I was there. Every time I pulled out my camera, Henry had to make a different face. This one is my favorite. :P Daniel and I have been wanting to see 10,000 BC since we first saw the trailer. It did not disappoint. The cinematography, soundtrack, and acting were all excellent. But beyond that, the story was interesting and exciting. I love having a hero I can root for. :D

Sunday
o Rest
o Lunch with Martinez Family

After such a weekend, I was glad to be in the Lord’s House. Lunch with the Martinez family was enjoyable. I love being hostess. But our families are so close, it is sometimes more like family, than friends getting together.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

This is late, but we celebrated my Grandfather's birthday yesterday (rather than Feb. 16th).

In any case, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAP PAW!

Basketball

Huzzah! The WVU men's basketball team has bested St. John's. (83-74)

Open Lab

The view outside the CS101 window -- (I took it at a weird angle)

Many of you know that I work for the Computer Science department... I am a proctor for the CS101 open lab on Fridays. Well, I finally got pictures of my home-away-from-home. (Sorry-- No pictures of my friends) Anyway, for your viewing pleasure. :)

The Teacher's Desk -- I sometimes steal that awesome chair

Deafness Project

Today, I experienced a very (VERY) small portion of a deaf person's life. I pretended to be deaf for a couple of hours. Never in my life have I felt so helpless; I was cut off from most of the world. Most of the people I encountered didn't know what to do with me. Some were polite, some were rude, and some were very kind. But, at the end I realized I have much to be thankful for... I can communicate very easily. God has given me a great blessing; one that I often forget. Spending hours not speaking and pretending to be deaf can have a very eye opening effect.

A Beautfiul Day

After long weeks of cold, snowy weather, God sent us a warm 70 degree day. It was so nice that I studied on the deck outside my home. I hope everyone else went outside and enjoyed the day as much as I did.

Cinderella

This is a beautiful song. My brother and I heard it on the radio coming home from church; I hope ya'll enjoy it too. :)

Back again!

Well, I'm done house sitting. Playing house was great; I took care of the dogs and the house like an responsible adult. (Yes!) Dee was kind enough to stay with me, and we had a wonderful weekend of visiting, telling stories, and catching each up on our lives. School keeps us both very busy. But now I'm home safe with my family. I'll be posting on my blog again....
