Pittsburgh's going to the Superbowl

Those who know me well know that I am a huge fan of football. I love it. The kickoffs, the runs, the blitz, the sacks… I love it all. (Tight pants and butt smacking aside.) Especially college ball, I cheer on my Mountaineers; I bleed blue and gold. But, growing up in a home of Steelers fans, I have developed my own appreciation of pro football. When Ward smiles after being tackled, I grin with delight. When Polamalu intercepts another ball, I jump up and down. But the best part is watching it with my Dad and Grandpa. Listening to them argue with the announcers, get excited over the game, and analyze whether or not this Steelers team is as good as the 70’s team can be the highlight of my week. That is part of what will make tomorrow so special. After going to evening worship, bring on Superbowl XLIII. Of course, watching 22 guys march up and down the field smacking and whacking one another can’t hurt either. So I have one question for y’all…

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!

It's a great day to be a Mountaineer...

...wherever you may be.

The Mountaineers took on Villanova and came out 48-21. The team started off slow, but once they got into a rhythm amazing things happened. Clearly, Coach Stew did an amazing job this summer. Just for a side note-- Announcers still come up with the greatest phrases---Noel Devine is like a ping-pong ball in a bathtub.

But, the Mountaineers could rejoice for more than just their own victory.
Virginia Tech lost to East Carolina... 22-27. The Mountaineers will have their work cut out for them next week when they play at EC.

Pitt lost to Bowling Green. (Tee Hee Hee) 17-27. Nuff' said. :P

And perhaps the best news of all:
Michigan lost to Utah: 23-25. Does anyone really miss Rod?!

VBS: Night 3

I think today was the best VBS night so far!

My favorite picture.

Some of the highlights:

Opening exercises were great... I love watching the kids faces as they try to do the motions. "Amen!" is our favorite bible school song. We get pretty loud and rowdy. :PDr. Knox shared with us his gift for music...
The older kids played a rousing game of soccer (minus a few rules), and the younger kids had I relay race based on the 5th commandment. (I also participated)
Dr. Jackson got a nose ring! ;-P

Nate and Mandy tried to work on crafts...

After most everyone went home, Daniel, Dee, Jake, Sammi, Josh, Jonah, and I played a game of roof volleyball... My house is so weirdly situated for this new-strange game. Of course, we weren't really keeping score, but my team still didn't win.
