Prefer reading to cards, do you?

But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. Ecclesiastes 12:12

I am a reader. No doubt about it, but sometimes I just can't read. I don't even want to think about picking up a book.... But, most times, my book stack grows and grows. How about y'all? Any good books lately?

And Floe --> Scarlet is for you. :) I thought that if you had finished Hood, I should start reading Scarlet again, right? Especially since, I don't have The Last Olympian.

Just finished "The Last Olympian" this morning and LOVED it. Can't wait 'til you read it. We have to compare thoughts. Emily is hoping that Riordan will continue the series, and the ending is open enough that I hope so, too!

And now I'm trying to decide what to devour next... Decisions, decisions...

Hm, so that's what's meant by "display name." You'll have to bear with my weaknesses. ;)

So is Stephen Ambrose just thrown in there for the picture, or are you actually reading him?

Kiri,
I started The Last Olympian, and I already love it! Long live Percy Jackson! :)
Pick another good series that you can recommend to me. ;)

Bobby,
No, I'm not actually reading Stephen Ambrose. I just wanted to appear intelligent. ;)

"Just wanted to appear intelligent"? Oh, for shame! Well, you don't need Stephen Ambrose to do that...

I was trying to be sarcastic. :) And, therefore, yes, I *am* reading Stephen Ambrose.

Mm, must be those poor communication skills we were "internalizing" at church last night, eh? :)

Well, I salute you on an historical event well chosen, and shall make a point to trouble you later with inquiries as to how this has entered your sphere of interests. Unless, of course, you *want* to let me clutter up your comments section with even more of my half-baked (and half-fried) perambulations of thought...

I'm so not observant. I didn't even notice which other books were in your stack! My brain just picked up *Scarlet* since it was the most obvious book in the picture.

Speaking of *Scarlet*, Keely started reading it in Michigan and thought the beginning was slow going... Bummer. How far are you in it?

Oh, and as far as other good series go, I'll let you know when I find more. I'm really looking forward to Riordan's new book coming out. And I wish Paolini would get a release date for Inheritance #4... But you already know about both of those, so they don't really count as new.
